Mooooo...

We drove up to Temecula Saturday. It is a long drive, about 50 miles. We started early while the weather was still nice. After finishing up in Temecula, we decided to drive back through the back country, Hwy 79 to Hwy 78, 1 lane in each direction which turns out to be almost 70 miles.
We passed through no less than 3, maybe 4 Indian reservations. And all but one had a casino or resort hotel with a casino. Pala Casino, Pauma Resort and Casino and Harrah's Rinson Casino. Middle of nowhere and there is an oasis. Here is a photo of one of them. Pretty ritzy-looking, huh?

We enjoyed the views of hills and valleys as we drove home the back way. It was starting to warm up and we had to turn the air conditioning on in the car.

Then we came across a funny site. My husband actually turned the car around so I could get this photo. You've heard all the talk about how cows are not real smart. Just big lumbering milk jugs. Well, look closely, under the tree, in the shade, there are about 25 head of cattle laying down in the shade. I might have to rethink my view on cows. These guys found the shade and are enjoying their day on the hillside.

My life has changed in the last couple of years - some bumps, I retired from quilting, and then I moved to Texas. I'm anxious to see what new adventures await me in the next phase of my life.
