BOM 2009

Yes, hard to believe, but I have yet another sampler.

The good thing about this is that it is from a piecer who always gives me flat, square quilts. This one is the same block in different batik fabrics. It is very cool and set on point with some colorful sun spots in the setting triangles. The back is a bright yellow batik. Though using black thread on the front would look ok, the back would be a horror-show. She obviously likes bright colors, so I decided to go with King Tut's yellows tonal called Shekels #985 on the top and Superior So Fine Mustard #422 in the bobbin. It is all free hand. The sashings will be elongated suns and the blocks are block treatments from Diana Phillips books. I should finish it up Friday and I'll post more photos.

My life has changed in the last couple of years - some bumps, I retired from quilting, and then I moved to Texas. I'm anxious to see what new adventures await me in the next phase of my life.
