Mary's Friendship Stars (Finished Feb 9th)

This one was difficult because Mary wanted to emphasize the friendship stars but they blended with the bars surrounding the stars. I got the tip to use the Friendship Star motif from Jo Ann over on Design Help Needed forum of Machine Quilter's Resource. The Friendship star motif is from Sweet Dreams.

Lots of thread changes. Also a lot of diagonal ruler work. The outer border is JSM013 by Jessica Schick from DigiTech.

The sashing is designed by my friend Debbi Treusch and it is new. SWEET! Don't you just love that. Thanks, Debbi.

Mary is a superb piecer. It is always a pleasure to quilt for her. And she loved this one when I delivered it.

Betty's Scrappy Churn Dash (Finished Feb 14th)

Lots of color here. I did continuous curves and loopy thang in the blocks. The sweet flower in the center of each block is called Vintage Flower from Legacy Quilting. The sashing is a simple alternating leaf line pattern (Small leaf_Wavy_border from Legary Quilting) that worked perfectly in this sashing. I used PermaCore Foliage Rose thread in that sashing and it blended great.

The color block borders were done using Diana Phillips Line Dancing #39 from Intelligent Quilting. I love her stuff. I put the quilting on the outside of the block for a different look. The bonus was that it made the color block POP. Both of the red/white borders were quilted with one of my favorites from Legacy Quilting called 2116_Double_Cable_Block. Betty also likes this border motif.

Betty's BOM - What fun

This one was fun. The big reveal at the LQS is next Saturday so I had to rush this one. She loved it.
I used Spring Garden sashing (5-flowers) from Sweet Dreams. The white inner border is unquilted. The black inner border is Floral Medley Quiltmaker from Legacy Quilting. The double flower block is Flower Block 9, also from Legacy Quilting.

My life has changed in the last couple of years - some bumps, I retired from quilting, and then I moved to Texas. I'm anxious to see what new adventures await me in the next phase of my life.
