Nancy's Irish Chain

This lavender beauty was a joy to quilt. It is done all in lilac, lavender and greens. The color choices are wonderful. I did a Folded Flower quilt for Nancy a few months ago and she chose Quilter's Dream wool batting and a Feather Meander free motion that I learned in a Suzanne Earley class at MQS 2008, The wool gave it lots of loft and she loved it. She gave it to her son and daughter-in-law as a gift and they loved it.

She told me tonight in the class I attend at the high school with her that her son told her that they washed the quilt. They had to leave the house before they could dry it. Fearing that they would forget to dry the quilt later, they folded the wet quilt and put it in the back seat of the car and went shopping. When they returned to the car after shopping, she said the quilt smelled like a wet dog. Yuck! But they rinsed it again and dried it. It did not shrink at all and I am happy to report that the wet dog smell was all gone.

Hi Linda
I love your feathers on this quilt. I did not recognize who's technique it was. Could you post a link to a website or a book, video, etc where you learned the technique. Looks like you have mastered it. Is it all free motion from the front of the machine? Added your blog to keep track of updates. Jeanne P

Linda, the quilting is beautiful!

My life has changed in the last couple of years - some bumps, I retired from quilting, and then I moved to Texas. I'm anxious to see what new adventures await me in the next phase of my life.
