Future Projects

I have wanted to do a sunny days class since I first saw Susan Baker's sample quilt at the Crazy 9 Patch Quilt Shop. It is lap size and has a wonderful scalloped border. So I signed up for the class and selected my fabric. I will post a picture of the completed quilt after class.
Here is what it looks like. The class (2 classes really) was fun. I always learn some new technique or trick from Susan. That is why I even like to take her beginner classes. I love the scalloped border. There were only 4 of us in the class, and I was the most experienced quilter. Susan Baker wanted us to completely piece the quilt top, including borders and then quilt inside the main body of the quilt, not on the borders.

The second class was only two weeks after the first. I volunteered to do the other student's quilts if they wanted...but no complaints. It was good practice for me. 2 out of 3 decided to let me quilt them. We learned the scalloped edge in the second class. I love the bright colors that we (Martha the quilt shop owner and I) chose. It is a very cheerful quilt.

My life has changed in the last couple of years - some bumps, I retired from quilting, and then I moved to Texas. I'm anxious to see what new adventures await me in the next phase of my life.
