Trick or Treat quilt

Cathy got bored during the evacuation so she finished this UFO. It is full of jack-o-lanterns and spooks. The front is 18 different kinds of flannel. The back is a pale yellow flannel. I SID around the embroidered blocks to stabilize them and echoed the figures and added some spiderwebs and moon and star for fun. The blocks are very light so I used PermaCore Naturaline for the SId and echo. I used a light gold PermaCore on the flannel.

I added pumpkins, oak leaves and 1-2-3s. Since I wanted to use the Naturaline thread on the back and did not want pokies, I doubled up on the batting. I used a layer of Warm & Natural next to the backing and then put a layer of Quilter's Dream Puff on top of that. I wanted to fill some of the fullness from the flannel with extra loft.

Holly Lasagna quilt

This quilt pattern has multiple names, lasagna, candy bars, and jelly roll. This one is flannel with lots of reds, greens and golds. I used gold thread and freemotion holly leaves, swirls and 1-2-3's. There was some fullness in the middle of the quilt so I had to quilt thru it.

My life has changed in the last couple of years - some bumps, I retired from quilting, and then I moved to Texas. I'm anxious to see what new adventures await me in the next phase of my life.
