Quilt me a Rose Garden

I used Quilter's Dream Puff and Signature Garnet thread. The thread looks a bit bright pink but it perfectly matches the colors on the front and back.

The owner of this quilt has been collecting rose fabrics for a while. She made a beautiful log cabin set in the diamond setting. She had seen my Feather Meander on other quilts and wanted that on this quilt. In case you haven't heard, I took a Feather Meander class at MQS 2008 with Suzanne Earley. It makes so much texture on the quilt. Now people request it by name "that feather meander thing you do...." Also with this quilt, I felt like I needed to put some roses in with the feathers. It is pretty hard to see in the photo so I ran it thru PaintShop Pro and removed all the red and you can now see the rose quilting stitches in the dar photo.

This is a beatufil quilt! I really like the way you stitched the roses in the quilting. Taking the color out of the photo is such a cool way to make the quilting show! I'll have to remember that!

Wow. Beautiful.

My life has changed in the last couple of years - some bumps, I retired from quilting, and then I moved to Texas. I'm anxious to see what new adventures await me in the next phase of my life.
