Martha's Veggie Quilted Tablecloth

Every year, Martha's sisters, all four of them, gather at her house for a week
of vacation fun. Well, it's a circus. They sleep in, swim in the pool, watch movies, and eat. Fitting all those girls and some of the menfolk around the table for meals is no problem. Martha's dining room table is the size of the flight deck on an aircraft carrier. Regular tablecloths don't come close to fitting that jumbo table. So she decided to make a quilted tablecloth.

Last year, Martha designed the quilt pattern called Martha's Crazy Dozen which normally uses 12 fat quarters in a stack and whack setup. She used some extra fat quarters to fit the behemoth table. She decided to liven up the tablecloth by including some vegetable fabrics. There's peas, cabbage, string beans and tomatoes on the front and grapefruit, lemons and oranges on the back. It's a regular fruit stand. She decided on Star red thread which was a perfect match for the pink grapefruit on the back. I used the panto named Veggie Garden on the body of the quilt and Dancing Leaves on the border, both by Deb Geissler. This was the perfect panto. It had carrots, onions, broccoli, eggplant, turnips, peas, corn on the cob, tomatoes and mushrooms on the pattern.

Martha liked it. But the big test....the sisters.

My life has changed in the last couple of years - some bumps, I retired from quilting, and then I moved to Texas. I'm anxious to see what new adventures await me in the next phase of my life.
