Graduation Day.....finally

My daughter-in-law, Dana, graduated from National University today with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration. This has been quite a journey. She has had to change schools to get all the courses, mostly the accounting classes, that she needed. Along the way, she and my oldest son, Jacob, got married. She continued striving for that degree while starting their family, two boys and another on the way.

I know her parents are proud of her and so are we. She is awesome!
There were over 1,400 grads from the several degree disciplines that National University serves. With the families and friends, there were about 20,000 people there. Naomi Judd was the commencement speaker. I don't even want to tell you how bad that was.
The boys were well-behaved, all things considered. The 1 yr old slept thru the whole thing. Looks like Poppy is asleep, too. The ceremony was broken into two parts. After the speakers, the school's grads moved to 6 other halls to receive their diploma. This is what I call "the walk". Dana really didn't want to do the walk, after all, the official diploma was mailed to her a few months ago. But her mother and I nagged her into it. I'm so glad we did.
Hunter was perched on Dad's shoulders looking for his mother in the sea of graduates. He must have been thinking, "Everybody is wearing the same black dress and funny hats. Where's my Mommy?"

My life has changed in the last couple of years - some bumps, I retired from quilting, and then I moved to Texas. I'm anxious to see what new adventures await me in the next phase of my life.
