Rhododendrons won't grow in southern California....

Well, take a look at this beauty!
I have been babying two Anah Kruschke Rhododendrons for four years. I put one in a big pot and the other in the ground. This one is the one in the ground. No blooms on the potted one. Ramona gets into the 100's in the summer so I positioned them under the eaves of the house and shielded by a tree fern.

This is the first time it has bloomed. Isn't it gorgeous.

Thanks for visiting my blog and leaving a comment. So glad you did as it had me look up your blog!
Love the quilts you have made.
Your rhododendron is gorgeous. I never tried growing them when we lived in Ventura county. I just believed they wouldn't grow. Silly me.

My life has changed in the last couple of years - some bumps, I retired from quilting, and then I moved to Texas. I'm anxious to see what new adventures await me in the next phase of my life.
