College Dorm quilt

Mema is probably the most experienced quilter in town. She was the featured artist at the Ramona Quilt Show 2005. She specializes in applique. She also does the bang-up job on quilt bindings. So we worked out a deal over time. She has sewn the binding on 3 or 4 of my quilts and she finally gave me a quilt to do on my longarm. It was for a grandson
away at college.

I used a Jody Beamish panto called Paper Chase. The young man is a student at University of Redlands and is on the college baseball team. I thought that a college student is a paper-chaser so it seemed appropo. Plus his name is Chase so that worked out. And Paper Chase works well for a man's quilt.

I was a bit worried about the applique so I custom quilted around college pennant (SID) and the baseball. I used cardinal red YLI to match the school colors. She was happy with it.

Linda, Great exchange for you and Mema! I love Jody's Paper Chase panto. Always glad to hear that the customer is happy with their quilting!

My life has changed in the last couple of years - some bumps, I retired from quilting, and then I moved to Texas. I'm anxious to see what new adventures await me in the next phase of my life.
