Prayers and Squares Quilt Raffle Updates

For those of you who remember, I quilted two quilts about a week apart. The first was for Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. It was a large sampler all done in blues, donated by Cecilia H, an avid quilter here in Ramona. The quilt also had a large Hawaiian medallion. The church had a festival on June 1st and the last of hte tickets were sold and the winner of the quilt was Joann F. Father Andre loved the quilt and commented that he hoped that he won the quilt as he was drawing the winning ticket at the festival. Joann F. decided to give the quilt to Father Andre. How cool is that? Well, I guess quilts are warm but you get the idea. Quite a generous gift. The quilt made $575 for the Prayers and Squares group at Immaculate Heart Catholic church.

On Father's Day, Spirit of Joy Lutheran Church drew the winning ticket for the Spring Star quilt. The quilt, a Lone Star done in greens, reds and ivy patterned fabric was expertly pieced by Judy H. Joanne B. sold the tickets between services for 4 weeks. The Prayers and Squares at Spirit of Joy Lutheran made $666.25.

My life has changed in the last couple of years - some bumps, I retired from quilting, and then I moved to Texas. I'm anxious to see what new adventures await me in the next phase of my life.
