Heather is from Australia. She works for a law firm in Los Angeles. She found me when the quilt group at the law firm needed a quilter for their raffle quilt last year. I managed to quilt the BQ and get it back to them just as we were being evacuated for the Witch Creek Fire. Since then, I have gotten six additional quilts from four quilters in their group.
I think it is interesting how they found me way down here 90 miles away. They checked Roie's Calico Cupboard website. Longarm volunteers do quilts for Rosie's effort to provide quilts to kids 4- 18 yrs old) with cancer at Camp Reach For the Sky. It is a worthy cause and the kids love these quilts.
For this quilt, Heather wanted to step outside her comfort zone a bit. The quilt is all in soft greens and some purples. Heather had started the quilt but then decided to give it to me. I thought that Signature Seafoam green thread was a perfect match for the green so I wound up the bobbins and threaded the machine. Then I saw Heather's line of stitching. She had used a pale lavendar thread on the quilt. So I decided to go with a contrasting thread. King Tut's extra-long staple cotton thread Wisteria Lane was perfect for this.

Heather had chosen the Circle Lord 7 Treasures of Buddha template for the quilting design. It is circles with pumpkin seeds inside. It is somewhat geometric. I indented the quilting so it was 2 inches off the top and bottom and 3 inches inset from the side borders. I hope she likes it.
